Beta readers hard at work on round two!

My beta readers are hard at work on the latest revisions. The feedback from them has been nothing but positive, which is great! Throughout this process, they have pulled no punches when it came to their opinions. They really helped to make this story so much better,  I can’t thank them enough!

We are getting close, folks! More updates to come soon!

Pirate Queen concept art

I’ve been getting a lot of great feedback from my beta readers on the concept art so far, so I thought to share and get your opinion too! This is for my upcoming book Pirate Queen, Book One: The Navigator. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work with the talented artist, M. Wayne Miller and can’t wait for you to see the art!

I’ll be posting a series of concepts for the cover and I’d love to get your opinions and feedback!

This is the first of five different concepts, I’ll post another tomorrow, so stay tuned! #amwriting

By the way, If you are looking for a cover illustrator or artist, I HIGHLY recommend working with M. Wayne Miller Illustration. Be sure to stop by his site and check out the other work he’s done.

Quick Update on Pirate Queen

A Shadow all of Light

One of my college mentors, Fred Chappell released his latest fantasy book, A Shadow all of Light the other day. If you are looking for an engaging fantasy with touches of humor, this is your book!

Fred Chappell’s “A Shadow All of Light,” a stylish, episodic fantasy novel, follows the exploits of Falco, a young man from the country, who arrives in the port city of Tardocco with the ambition of becoming an apprentice to a master shadow thief. Maestro Astolfo, whose mysterious powers of observation would rival those of Sherlock Holmes, sees Falco’s potential and puts him through a grueling series of physical lessons and intellectual tests.

Falco’s adventures coalesce into one overarching story of con men, monsters, ingenious detection, cats, and pirates. A wry humor leavens this fantastical concoction, and the style is as rich and textured as one would hope for from Chappell, a distinguished poet as well as a World Fantasy Award-winning fantasy writer
